Teeth whitening is a safe, effective solution for most people. However, a referral from your dentist is now required before doing this service. You must be 18 years of age or over to whiten your teeth. You should not have your teeth whitened if you are pregnant, if you have periodontal disease or gums that are in poor condition, if you have overly sensitive teeth, if you had a recent oral surgery, if you have decayed teeth or roots that are exposed.

Still others schedule teeth whitening as a regular esthetic procedure to keep their smile looking bright and healthy.

Yes. Scientific research has shown that the active ingredients in the whitening gels are effective and safe for teeth whitening.

Most clients experience no sensitivity or discomfort during or after the treatment. A very small percentage of clients may feel some minor tooth sensitivity, and therefore we recommend brushing with desensitizing toothpaste. It is also recommended that clients avoid consuming very hot or very cold food or beverages in the first 24 hours following treatment.

This varies from person to person and depends primarily on diet and lifestyle; but the effects of teeth whitening last an average of one year. Periodic touch-up treatments are recommended for clients who frequently consume coffee or other staining foods and beverages, or for those who use tobacco products.

It is recommended to have your teeth cleaned by a dental hygienist before coming in for your whitening procedure. Other than that, come as you are and prepared to be amazed by the beauty of your smile!

In the first 24 to 48 hours following your treatment, avoid any foods or beverages that would stain a white t-shirt. This includes coffee, tea, red wine, soy sauce, colas, etc. Do not smoke or use any tobacco products; do not brush with colored toothpaste. We will make sure you leave with all the information you need to keep your smile white.
